Independence Day Musings: Igniting the Revolutionary Spirit of a Proud Nation
As we stand on the sacred threshold of our nation’s 249th Independence Day, I write to you, my heart ablaze with a fierce, unshakable pride for this magnificent land we call home. The Fourth of July is our most hallowed national holiday—a radiant celebration of the indomitable grit, resolve, and visionary courage that sparked a Constitutional Republic where liberty burns eternal. This day honors the revolutionary spirit of 1776, a legacy of strength and unity that courses through our veins, calling us to reclaim what it truly means to be American with unyielding passion.
To be an American is to see the world as it is—not as we wish it to be—and meet it with clarity, strength, and unwavering resolve. Our founders, with their rugged pragmatism, humble hearts, and bold vision, forged a nation on liberty, personal responsibility, and a common creed—not common blood—a testament to the divine spark that ignited our independence. Yet dark forces test us: open borders flood us with uninvited foreigners, eroding the sovereignty our founders bled for, while radical ideologies push lawlessness, daring to call child mutilation “healthcare.” Even New York City teeters on the edge of electing a Communist Muslim mayor—a brazen slap to the spirit of every patriot who ever stood tall. This chaos echoes the Obama legacy—a grim chapter of hate, divisiveness, and weak leadership that left us vulnerable. Previous administrations fanned racial flames with careless words, turned a blind eye as crime surged, and made America a laughingstock, sapping our strength and dimming our global light. But this is not our destiny—we are a people who build, not just consume, who stand for something rather than bend for everything.
To be an American is to know our way of life is earned, not granted, and must be guarded with a pride that echoes across the ages. We can respect other cultures, learn from them, but we won’t import every ideology to prove our compassion—assimilation, not division, is the price of our unity, a bond forged in the crucible of freedom. President Trump stands as our modern General Washington—a leader of iron will, guiding us through stormy winters with the same fierce resolve that led our army across the Delaware, reviving the spirit of ’76. That spirit calls us to stand tall, to honor the legacy of a people who defied a king and built a republic that shines as a beacon to the world.
The heartbeat of Americans is in every star and stripe; the unshakable truth that being American is etched in our DNA—a fierce, unyielding spirit that transcends mere ideas, a heritage of God and liberty that pulses through our blood. This is our legacy, our birthright, and the gift we must pass to our children with unwavering pride. The shadows of weakness will crumble before a resurgent strength of our resolve.
This Independence Day let’s rekindle the revolutionary fire that birthed this nation. Let the fireworks erupt as a thunderous proclamation of our Nation's enduring glory, a tribute to a people forged in freedom’s fire and blessed by Almighty God, standing resolute to safeguard the soul of this great nation for generations to come.
In hope and resolve,
Terri Coulter
